LGBT Dharma Group Explores Topics To Help Guide Spiritual Journey

The Austin Shambhala Meditation Center hosts a monthly LGBT-friendly meeting fostering Buddhist principles and includes mediation practice.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin LGBT Dharma Group, a Buddhist-oriented group providing a gay/lesbian/transgender-friendly environment for exploration and pursuit of Buddhist teachings, invites guests to its monthly meeting taking place at the Austin Shambhala Meditation Center. Each month, all are welcome to enjoy meditation instruction, meditation time, a Dharma topic, discussion, refreshments and fellowship.

Intended to foster a safe environment where people can come together to form a community of non-judgement with a focus on openness, curiosity and gentleness, and where everyone may find genuine friendship, Austin LGBT Dharma Group welcomes everyone for spiritual contemplation.

Meeting are held the last Sunday of each month, and this month's group will meet Sunday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p. m. at the Austin Shambhala Meditation Center located at 1702 S 5th St #3413, Austin, TX 78704. A brief meditation instruction and silent sitting practice opens each meeting, and a host of topics ranging from Buddhist teaching, issues on sexuality and coming out, death and dying, and finances are among some of the discussions explored throughout the meeting.
