JCI Hospitality LLC, an Austin company, broke ground last week on a Hyatt House Hotel at 901 Neches St. in Austin.

According to the Austin Business Journal, The Hyatt House Hotel is expected to consist of 190 rooms by the end of 2016. It’s designed by LK Architecture in Wichita, Kansas. It has nine floors for rooms and four floors for underground parking. Journeyman Construction, a JCI Hospitality affiliate, is the contractor.

State Capitol visitors will find the location useful. It’s also a street away from Dell Medical School, another new Austin site coming next year.

Another hotel that’s coming soon is Hotel Van Zandt, a Kimpton Hotel, which will open in the next few weeks in the Rainey Street District on the southeast edge of downtown with more than 300 rooms.
