“We are a local company with deep roots in the Austin community,” said Darrell Landers, founder and CTO of Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment. “It’s been a tough year for everyone and especially those on the front lines working to keep our community healthy and safe. We want to express our appreciation by providing some free, safe, family fun during the holidays.”

The company opened the temporary drive-in theater on Nov. 27 to show classic holiday movies, officials explained in an advisory. The temporary theater will close Jan. 25 in preparation for the start of construction on a permanent open-air cinema that will include three sections of parking for any budget and SkyView Deck Seating, officials added.
