Moonlight Tower Run Highlights Landmarks Popularized In Movie
The social run complements training for the Cap10K and has runners explore light towers featured in the movie Dazed and Confused.
AUSTIN, TX — If you're looking for an opportunity to complement your Cap10K training with a fun running route alongside fellow runners, you won't want to miss The Moonlight Tower Run - a creative 4 to 6-mile route traveling across the river into downtown in search of two of only 16 remaining light towers. Popularized by the 1993 movie "Dazed and Confused", the Moonlight Towers have been part of the Austin skyline since 1894.
Following the run, participants will have become experts in spotting important Texas historical landmarks. Runners will enjoy mini moon pies, coffee, hot chocolate and other snacks at the end of the run. The Moonlight Tower run begins and finishes at the Austin American-Statesman on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 8 a.m. (pre-run stretch at 7:50 a.m.).
The Moonlight Tower Run is a social run open to all runners and walkers of every level. For more click HERE.
