Museum's Multimedia Event Celebrates Austin And What Connects Us

The Blanton Museum of Art will host 'together', a multimedia concert highlighting a year's worth of interviews and stories all set to music.

AUSTIN, TX —The Blanton Museum of Art, showcasing art from across the ages, from ancient greek pottery to abstract expressionism, will host 'together'- a multimedia concert about the community, about Austin, and how these are connected. 'together' is inspired by an entire year of interviews with individuals across Austin, and delves with the themes of belonging and isolation, and is the third installment of the Austin-focused projects following the path of dream and i/we (winner, 2017-2018 Austin Critics Table Award for Best Original Composition). 'together' is an opportunity to examine the space between individuals through music and story.

Located at The University of Texas at Austin 200 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Austin, TX 78712, The Blanton Museum's 'together' will run from Friday, Jan. 24 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 25 from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 26 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

The event will feature brand new works by Rusell Pinkston, Celil Refik Kaya, Travis Marcum, and Joseph V. Williams II and will include the music of Clarice Assad and Wang Jei performed by a quartet of plucked and bowed strings: Jennifer Choi (violin), Jessica Valls (bass), Isaac Bustos and Alejandro Montiel (guitars).
