Nomi Health opens office in Austin on path to rewire healthcare
Austin office is part of the direct health care company's ongoing expansion to provide smarter care to patients in their times of need

AUSTIN – Nomi Health celebrated the official grand opening of its regional office in Austin this week with an Austin Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony. Nomi Health’s direct delivery model brings care to people directly through stand-up clinics and mobile care units and has served hundreds of thousands of Texans throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Texas has been a pivotal location for the Utah-born company since May 2021, when it partnered with the State to provide no-cost, burden-free COVID-19 testing. Nomi served more than 115,000 Texans in the first eight months of the pandemic and equipped the State with critical data, allowing leaders to make real-time decisions about COVID response. Nearly 200,000 COVID tests and 20,000 COVID vaccines later, and Nomi Health continues serving uninsured Texans over a year beyond the end of federal reimbursements, offering direct testing in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston and beyond at no cost, insured or not.
Nomi Health also has worked in the Texas Capitol to help shape health care policy, including the passage last session of the Texas gold card bill, which reduces prior authorization requirements.

"Texas is my home, and it is home to nearly 60 Nomi Health employees at our Austin office and other dedicated team members statewide. From the capital to the border, the biggest cities and the smallest towns, we are deeply committed to helping Texas thrive by rewiring how care is paid for and delivered,” Boe Hartman, co-founder and chief technology officer of Nomi Health, said in a press release. “Whether administering COVID-19 and monkeypox vaccines or advocating for sweeping health care policy changes, we are driven to improve health care statewide and plan to continue growing our presence here to do so.”
Nomi Health is marking its Austin grand opening with a $30,000 donation to the University of Texas at Austin’s Girl Day STEM education program. Throughout Central Texas, Nomi also supports CASA of Travis County and Any Baby Can, and has partnered with Austin Independent School District, South by Southwest, Austin City Limits and The Long Center for Performing Arts to provide no-cost COVID testing. Statewide, in partnership with Tava Health, Nomi sponsored no-cost therapy and mental health services for Texas health care workers and for the Uvalde community following the school shooting tragedy.
