Approximately 20 to 25 homes and around 30 structures total were damaged in the Crockett area, and 10 people were injured, Gov. Greg Abbott said in a news conference in Crockett on Tuesday afternoon.

Crews are working "around the clock" to restore power to homes and repair power lines, Abbott said.

Abbott urged Texans to report damages from the storms to a state website to help officials gather information for federal assistance.

On Tuesday, Abbott issued a disaster declaration for the following counties: Bastrop, Cass, Cooke, Grayson, Guadalupe, Houston, Jack, Madison, Marion, Montague, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Upshur, Williamson and Wise.

Extensive structure damage was reported in Round Rock, where a woman was pulled from her destroyed home by her neighbors, according to a report from KVUE. She was uninjured.

A tornado in Elgin was described as large and "extremely dangerous" in a warning Monday night, and video from a Twitter storm chaser showed the tornado twisting around a red pickup truck as it crossed a highway. The truck was blown back onto its tires as the storm passed and was able to drive away.

The National Weather Service is surveying damage from Monday night's tornadoes and thunderstorms in central and north Texas.

NWS will follow several tracks to assess damage from tornadoes in the Austin metro, moving from Round Rock through Hutto to Granger on one path and tracking two paths southeast of Austin. One begins in Garfield and goes through Elgin, and another starts near Northrup and goes northeast through Giddings. Weather officials will also survey damage on a track north of Sun City that follows Interstate 35 through Jarrell.

Abbott mobilized state agencies Monday in anticipation of the storms to assist counties with recovery efforts.

"The state is standing with the people of Williamson County, shoulder to shoulder," Gov. Greg Abbott said at a news conference in Williamson County on Monday night.

Damage from one storm near Seguin will be be tracked through the Kingsbury and Luling areas.

NWS is tracking damage in the Temple and Waco areas as well as in several counties northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth.

The thunderstorms and tornadoes were part of an unusual confluence of weather events in the state Monday. Abbott issued a disaster declaration for wildfires in Texas this week, and residents of the Texas Panhandle were dealing with blizzard conditions.
