One Page Salon Live Webinar Benefits Hope Alliance In September

Writer's League Texas hosts the virtual evening alongside Texas-based literary talent coming together to raise funds for Hope Alliance.

AUSTIN, TX — Writer's League of Texas (WLT) invites the community to Austin's beloved reading series, One Page Salon, in a virtual presentation of readings and fundraising to benefit Hope Alliance in partnership with Georgetown's indie bookstore, Lark & Owl Booksellers. One Page Salon offers a literary evening alongside Texas-based writers as they share their work with the community.

One Page Salon scheduled Saturday, September 5 from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. will showcase five outstanding authors reading one page from a work in progress, offering audiences a first listen of original new material from featured writers. Novelist, screenwriter, comedian and founder of One Page Salon, Owen Egerton will serve as the evening's emcee.

Proceeds raised through donations from the virtual event will benefit Hope Alliance, an organization dedicated to assisting those affected by family and sexual violence, and providing safety, services and working toward developing partnerships leading to hope, healing and prevention. Services like those of Hope Alliance are especially critical during challenging times like these amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking about Hope Alliance, "This is an amazing group and this is a timely topic to support because of the lockdowns/remote working and learning that are happening now, inevitably putting those who were already in danger, in an untenable position. I hope this will help raise awareness to the gravity of the issue, especially as people are impacted by the pandemic. This organization serves the greater Central Texas area, as well as the entire state when needed," according to Jane Estes, one of the founder's of Lark & Owl Booksellers.

The virtual event welcomes all audiences regardless of ability to make a donation, simply select "RSVP + no donation" and be added to the registration list at no charge. For more information, including link to register and donate to the live webinar click HERE.
