AUSTIN, TX — As protests and demonstrations for social justice and equity continue across the country, and with many Americans feeling a desire to see meaningful change, a common question emerges as to how one can be an effective ally. The BLAC Project — working to empower black youth and communities by providing tools for a brighter future— will host a virtual event Being an Effective Ally to the Black Community: A Respectful Discussion on Sunday, June 7 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. CDT.

As citizens protest to spotlight racial equity, many people are looking to become an effective proponent to end disparity based on race. The discussion will be held to help provide education on ways to implement solutions and is intended to open the channels of communication in a respectful and constructive manner.
