Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In South Austin

AUSTIN, TX — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in South Austin on Sunday evening, emergency officials said.
Emergency crews from Austin-Travis County EMS, police, and fire responded to the intersection of West Ben White Boulevard and Menchaca Road at around 6:45 p.m. in South Austin. EMTs administered life-saving measures on an adult patient to no avail before the person was pronounced dead just after 7:15 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS wrote on Twitter.
The collision shut down Menchaca Road in both directions, according to emergency officials.
