The Power Of Mantra Explores Mindfulness And Concentration

The virtual meditation class offers an opportunity to learn about the power of meditation and mantra recitation for improved clarity.

AUSTIN, TX — Amid these unprecedented times we're living, and as health experts advise increased time at home to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, it's easy to understand why more people may be experiencing increasing feelings of stress and anxiety. Fortunately, many wellness organizations have managed to transition to virtual formatting to make programs and services accessible to those who may need resources to help cope with the ongoing public health crisis.

For its part, the Kadampa Meditation Center is hosting an online meditation session to introduce the community to the special breathing meditation known as the OM AH HUM mediation.The Power of Mantra: Mixing Your Mind With a Special Breathing Meditation combines the breath with a simple mantra recitation, the meditation technique is a powerful tool to improve mindfulness and concentration, which leads to heightened clarity.

The online session will be held Saturday, July 18 from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. via Zoom. The course will also be available to view online until Sunday, July 19 at 11:59 p.m. for those not able to join in during the listed times. Principal Kadampa Teacher, Laura Morrison will facilitate the meditation classes and sessions are open to both beginner and experienced practitioners.
