Rosita y Conchita Lets Kids Learn, Celebrate Mexican Traditions
Austin Scottish Rite Theater hosts the virtual bilingual play based on the popular children's book about the Día de Los Muertos celebration.
AUSTIN, TX—If you're looking for an opportunity for your little ones to enjoy a morning of fun and adventure, Austin Scottish Rite Theater will host a virtual version of Rosita y Conchita, a Día de los Muertos play in English and Spanish.
Austin Scottish Rite Theater’s mission is to share and preserve the historic Masonic facility, serving the greater community through high quality performing arts, educational programs, and events; amid the pandemic, the theater has made programming available in a virtual format that continues to entertain and delight.
Rosita y Conchita, is a play that celebrates Mexican traditions and the Día de los Muertos celebration. Based on the award-winning children's book Rosita y Conchita by Erich Haeger and Eric González, the story centers on two sisters trying to reunite on the Day of the Dead. Along the way, Rosita follows familiar, sights, sounds and smells in her quest to find Conchita.
