"Safest Driver" Competition Awards Cash Prizes To Austin Drivers

AUSTIN, TX—Distracted driving is an unfortunate consequence of living in the digital age, and is one of the four key driving behaviors that can lead to serious crashes. The City of Austin and Safe2Save are working in tandem to host a competition open to Austin-area residents with opportunities to win up to $10,000 in cash prizes simply by staying off their phones while driving.

The month-long competition has Austin-area participants reach the highest driving score, and at the end of the competition, all drivers who score a 98 or above will be entered to win the following prizes:

• $3,000 First Prize
• $2,000 Second Prize
• $1,000 Third Prize

One user will win $500 each week of the competition, with prizes awarded by Farm & City through a grant from State Farm Insurance. Participants may download the free app called SAFE2SAVE(available on iOS and Android) to enter the competition. Enter the competition code: AUSTIN2021.
