St. Louis Catholic Church Celebrates The Sounds Of Baroque
A 17th-Century Venetian Christmas is a memorable musical experience celebrating the sounds of Baroque and acoustics of the St. Louis chapel.
AUSTIN, TX — St. Louis Catholic Church invites the community to A 17th-Century Venetian Christmas at the St. Louis Catholic Church Chapel on Friday, Dec. 20 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. In the 17th century, Venice was known as the epicenter of the magnificent music in all of Europe. Composers and musicians of the time traveled from all corners of the world on a pilgrimage to St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice to learn the Venetian style of music made famous by composers Gabrieli and Monteverdi. The hope was to learn the traditions and take them back to their home territories for broader exposure.
In homage to Baroque Venice, audiences are invited to delight in the wondrous acoustics of the Chapel of St. Louis Catholic Church and the sounds and voices that defined an era. The 17th-Century Venetian Christmas event is an opportunity for individuals and families to experience a memorable musical performance this holiday season. For more details, click HERE.
