Suspect, Victim In Fatal South Austin Shooting Identified

Adrian Lamar Haynes, 20, was selling marijuana before being fatally shot, police said, and Roger Chimney, 21, has been arrested.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday identified the victim and suspect centered on a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend.

The incident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. at 4600 Elmont Dr. in Southeast Austin, police said at the time. According to a police spokesperson, one man was transported to an area hospital in stable condition while another was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, police identified the dead man as 20-year-old Adrian Lamar Haynes. Police added that 21-year-old Roger Chimney, has been arrested in the case. Another victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. According to Travis County Sheriff's Office jail records, Chimney was jailed under a $1 million bond. A booking photo was not immediately available.
