SXSW In Austin Reveals Speakers For Upcoming Virtual Event

AUSTIN, TX — SXSW on Tuesday announced the first round of speakers for its online event in March.

"Spanning a variety of industries, we’re on track for an exciting run of fascinating sessions with a super cool list of luminaries that continue our tradition of bringing together innovators from around the world," officials wrote in an advisory.

The slate of speakers includes futurist Amy Webb; Chief Diversity Officer at Riot Games, Angela Roseboro; writer Baratunde Thurston; Executive Director for the City of Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation, Cat Packer; tennis champion Maria Sharapova, Mark Mothersbaugh and Beatie Wolfe discussing Postcards for Democracy: A Collective Art Demo; and Inside Genius: Aretha, the story of the Queen of Soul featuring Cynthia Errivo and Brian Grazer; plus Inside Genius: Aretha, the story of the Queen of Soul featuring Cynthia Errivo and Brian Grazer; among others.

In mid-February, SXSW Online will open its doors so registrants can get a head start on networking. Passholders will also be treated to a premium viewing experience with streaming available via our Connected TV app available on Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku®, Samsung TV Plus, and Android TV.

Officials noted budget-friendly student and group rates are available, urging participants to register before the end of the year. The current rate of $199 SXSW Online won’t last long, officials added. To register, click here.

The coronavirus pandemic spurred cancellation of last year's SXSW event, and organizers have readied a virtual version of the gathering this coming spring.
