Virtual Concert Series Offers Intimate Evening Of Live Music
ESB-MACC hosts its Desde la Sala Concert Series every other Saturday and features a lineup of musicians performing from their living rooms.
AUSTIN, TX — Desde la Sala Virtual Concert Series, a series of performances by some of your favorite artists, from their living room to yours, hosted by the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) offers an intimate evening of great music for all to enjoy offered every other Saturday. The online concert will feature talented and diverse artists performing including:
- Money Chicha: The Austin, Texas based group features members of the Grammy-award winning Latin orchestra Grupo Fantasma and its offshoot funk outfit Brownout which performs a fuzzed-out, reverb-drenched and percussion-heavy style of music inspired by the sounds of Peru and Colombia in the 60s and 70s.
- Diana Gameros: Among the Bay Area’s bustling music scene is singer-guitarist- social activist Diana Gameros, an artist who’s quickly caught the attention of national media as well as acclaimed musicians (i.e. La Santa Cecilia, Natalia Lafourcade, Bebel Gilberto, Taylor Mac, San Francisco Symphony) who’ve been drawn to her singular music and intrigued by her life story.
- Javier Jara: In his native country, Ecuador, Javier Jara fell in love with music as a young child when relatives would bring their guitars to family gatherings, playing and singing Latin American folk music. Inspired by this experience, Javier now writes music as a form of both political and social activism.
- Eliud Garcia: Singer and band leader of the ELIUD band, Garcia was born on October 24, 1992 in Rio Grande City, Texas near the border of Mexico (Tamaulipas). At a very young age, he was attracted to sounds created by musical instruments, especially drums.
- DJ Diggy Dutch: As a professional DJ, emcee and entertainer, DJ Diggy Dutch has created a name for himself as one of the top DJs in the South. He has performed at festivals like SXSW and with some of the most talented artist and djs in America. DJ Diggy Dutch has also been on tour with numerous local artists from Dallas and Houston.
