Texas Gains 26,543 More Coronavirus Cases, 250 New Deaths

The state hit a new record of 13,308 COVID-19 patients in Texas hospitals, representing a 347-patient jump from Monday.

AUSTIN, TX — Texas reported 26,543 new cases of the coronavirus — excluding 1,420 more reported by labs across the state retroactively and 3,637 more probable cases — and 250 more deaths from the respiratory illness.

The data are found in a statistical dashboard maintained by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Since the start of the pandemic, Texas has now reported 1,843,153 total cases and 28,219 fatalities as shown on the dashboard.

So far, the dashboard shows, 1,333,450 vaccine doses have been shipped across the state — of which only 439,502 doses, or 32.96 percent, have been administered to residents.
