Texas Governor To Survey Hurricane Hanna Damage
Joined by Texas Department of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd, Abbott will visit Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday.

AUSTIN, TX — Gov. Greg Abbott has scheduled visits on Tuesday to some of the hardest-hit regions of Texas sustaining damage from Hurricane Hanna, his office announced Monday.
To that end, Abbott will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas, and the Rio Grande Valleyto meet with local officials in surveying storm damage. Slated to accompany the governor is Texas Department of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd, according to an advisory.

- In Corpus Christi, the governor has scheduled a 11:30 a.m. briefing followed by a news conference at noon. The event is slated to take place at the Anchor Ballroom on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus, 6300 Ocean Dr.
- At the Rio Grande Valley, a 3:30 p.m. briefing will be followed by a 4 p.m. news conference. The presentation is scheduled to take place at Texas Department of Public Safety Headquarters at 2525 N. International Blvd. in Weslaco, Texas.

Hurricane Hanna slammed into South Texas on Saturday, making landfall on Padre Island as a Category 1 storm. Although it was almost immediately downgraded to tropical storm status, the storm resulted in heavy rainfall and flash flooding in much of the region.
