AUSTIN, TX — Texas landed on the bottom third in a newly released list of the best states in which to raise families.

Researchers at the personal finance website WalletHub compared the 50 states across 50 key indicators in assembling their Best & Worst States to Raise a Family report. The upshot: Texas ranked 33rd among the best states to lay down family roots, sandwiched between Indiana and Michigan.
