Thinkery Offers Week-Long Spring Break Camp, Activities

The 40,000 sq. ft. space offering interactive learning programs and activities will host special events for kids and families to enjoy.

AUSTIN, TX — Spring Break is a the chance to enjoy a much needed vacation from studying and test-taking, for countless kids and families, it's also the perfect opportunity to venture out and explore all the great things your city has to offer. Thinkery located at the Meredith Learning Lab, 1830 Simond Ave., Austin, TX 78723, welcomes Spring with various activities for families with kids of all ages to enjoy through Spring Break and beyond.

Offering 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor activities for children and families to learn through play, with a variety of hands-on, interactive STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) exhibits and programs. The interactive activities offer a great way to keep kids entertained and busy learning. Thinkery will host the following activities for everyone to enjoy.   • Thinkery Spring Break Camp: Monday, March 16 at 9 a.m. through Friday, March 20 at 4 p.m. Thinkery Camp programs provide a creative, safe and challenging environment for campers to learn and grow—and have a whole lot of fun while they’re doing it!
  • Tinkering Take Homes| Sky High Kites: Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m. through Friday, March 20 at 4 p.m. Let’s go fly a kite! Spring is a great time to go outdoors and take advantage of one of the best times of the year. Thinkery will have everything you need to build a sky worthy kite so that you can soar into spring.
  • Community Nights: Wednesday, March 18 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thinkery stays open late for families to discover new ideas and learn together. Enjoy the exhibits and educational programs facilitated by staff. Admission is FREE, but donations are welcome!
  • Baby Bloomers – Spring Has Sprung!: Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Baby Bloomers is a special program during which the museum is open exclusively for visitors ages 0–3 years and their families. Held Mondays (9 a.m.-noon) and Saturdays (9 a.m.–10 am), Baby Bloomers provides caregivers and early learners the chance to experience Thinkery together in an environment focused solely on them. Monthly themes and special guests engage our youngest visitors in fun, hands-on explorations and learning through play. In addition to storytime and other guided activities, free-play is encouraged in museum galleries that support the social, emotional and cognitive development of our earliest learners.
