AUSTIN, TX — Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, the Texas woman wanted in connection with the killing of professional off-road cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson, traveled to New York City following Wilson's death, authorities said Wednesday.

On May 17, the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force issued an arrest warrant for 34-year-old Armstrong, who is suspected of killing the 25-year-old cyclist from Vermont after she reportedly dated Armstrong's boyfriend.

According to investigators, Armstrong was spotted at Austin International Bergstrom Airport on May 14 at approximately 12:30 p.m. She boarded a flight to Houston Hobby Airport, authorities said, before boarding a connecting Southwest Airlines flight to New York LaGuardia Airport.

Wilson was found in an East Austin home on May 11, unconscious and bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a New York Times report, Armstrong was dating Colin Strickland, another star gravel cyclist. Wilson was also reportedly dating Strickland, the Times reported, citing police.

On the night she was killed, Wilson and Strickland reportedly visited the Deep Eddy pool in Austin, according to a police affidavit posted by The Austin American-Statesman. According to the affidavit, Strickland told police he began a romantic relationship with Wilson during a brief break in his relationship with Armstrong.

Surveillance footage placed a vehicle similar to Armstrong's near the scene of the shooting, according to a CNN report. Ballistics evidence confirmed that a handgun found at Armstrong and Strickland's house was the gun that was fired in Wilson's killing, police told CNN.

Armstrong is 5-feet 8-inches tall and weighs approximately 125 pounds. She has light brown long, curly hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen on surveillance video wearing a blue denim jacket, black shirt with a pink design on the chest, white jeans, black and white tennis shoes, a black COVID mask, and a possible yoga mat carrier on her shoulders.

Anyone with information on Armstrong's whereabouts is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 800-336-0102 or submit a tip using the USMS Tips app.
