U.S. Veteran Dr. Matthew Popp Joins Austin Oral Surgery
Accepting New Patients in North Central Austin and Marble Falls

Matthew Popp – DDS, FACS, has joined Austin Oral Surgery – an oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) practice with 12 locations in Central Texas. A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Popp is accepting new patients at Austin Oral Surgery’s North Central Austin and Marble Falls locations. Dr. Popp provides a full scope of OMS services and has a clinical interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, facial cosmetics and corrective jaw surgery.
“Dr. Popp is highly skilled and experienced, having served as chief of oral surgery at Nellis Air Force Base for several years, as well as on the faculty/staff for various military OMS programs, prior to going into private practice,” noted Thomas S. Weil, DDS, MD, and president of Austin Oral Surgery. “He’s also a compassionate surgeon, who demonstrates unwavering dedication to his patients.”
Born in San Antonio, Dr. Popp earned his bachelor’s degree in science from Texas A&M University and his DDS from UT Health San Antonio. After graduating, Dr. Popp joined the U.S. Air Force and completed his OMS residency through the San Antonio Military Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program.
He went on to serve as chief of oral surgery at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas for four years. After which, he served for an additional year on the faculty/staff for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Nellis. He then returned to San Antonio, where he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base and served on the faculty/staff of the San Antonio Military Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program for four years before going into private practice.
