UMLAUF Hosts Water Conservation Initiative Event

AUSTIN, TX — The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum, Ellis of Austin, Richards Rainwater, and Austin Parks Foundation are excited to partner for an evening event benefitting the UMLAUF's Water Conservation initiatives. The Celebrate Rainwater + Support the UMLAUF with Ellis and Richard's Rainwater event will support the UMLAUF's efforts for its water conservation initiative to secure a rain water collection tank. The unique event will feature specially curated cocktails, Richard's Rainwater, a photo booth, live music and much more.

The onsite rainwater collection tank would help the UMLAUF reduce the demand from existing water supply and offer the ability to use collected rainwater for the museum's prominent water feature in the garden. On average, UMLAUF uses 14,006 gallons of water per month of City of Austin water; a rainwater collection tank would include an annual savings of over $9,000 and benefit the City of Austin by curbing dependence on groundwater, and reduce stormwater run-off near Barton Springs.

Austin Parks Foundation awarded the UMLAUF a $28,500 matching grant for the project and the UMLAUF is currently raising the matching funds. Prospective donors are able to contribute to the initiative with sponsorship levels including: $28,500 -- $15,000 -- $10,000 -- $7,500 -- $5,000 - $2,500 or an amount of your choice. Sponsors and Partners for the environmentally conscious initiative will be recognized in the UMLAUF's print materials, via website, in e-newsletters and social media posts reaching over 20,000 subscribers, in addition to recognition at the site of the rainwater tower at the garden and visited by over 50,000 people annually.
