Virtual Event Discusses Work, Legacy Of James Baldwin
Acclaimed scholars and authors Eddie Glaude, Jr. and Cornel West will discuss the enduring legacy of Baldwin applied to society today.
AUSTIN, TX —As the public conversation focuses on the state of race relations in the country, Haymarket Books, a Chicago-based independent, non-profit publisher, will host an engaging and insightful discussion with acclaimed scholars and authors, Eddie Glaude Jr. and Cornel West. Begin Again: James Baldwin's America and its Urgent Lessons for Our Own will discuss the enduring legacy of James Baldwin and highlight the lessons from his work that may be used to confront racism today.
The virtual event is free and takes place Wednesday, July 1 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. CDT, however donations to continue supporting the work of Haymarket Books is encouraged and appreciated. Participants may register via Eventbrite with a link to be emailed on the day of the event. The virtual event will also be recorded.
