Webinar Focuses On Support For Mental Health Amid COVID-19

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy will host a free webinar with expert panelists discussing the pandemic's impact on mental health.

AUSTIN, TX —As Texas sees a surge in the spread of coronavirus, and the illness continues to dominate headlines, experts warn of serious mental health consequences emerging in relation to mental illness, depression, anxiety and risk of suicide. The Center for Disaster Philanthropy will host a webinar as the final installment of their COVID-19 Series to advance awareness for the impact of mental health during the current public health crisis.

COVID-19: Support for Mental Health, Bereavement and Grief scheduled Tuesday, July 14 at 1 p.m. CDT will feature speakers discussing insight on what professionals are seeing as individuals, families and communities navigate the stress of uncertainty, illness, death and the economic impact of the pandemic. The webinar will also include topics such as the role of cultural sensitivity in addressing traumas of disaster; how funders are responding; and opportunities for innovative and collaborative grant making.
