Women's March ATX Invites Supporters To Rally For Social Change

The grassroots non-profit dedicated to standing up for the rights of women host their annual march from the Texas Capitol.

AUSTIN, TX — The Women's March on Texas Capitol, an independent, grassroots non-profit dedicated to standing up for the rights of all women regardless of race, cultural or religious affiliation, sexual identity or preference or political affiliation, takes place on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge.

As a presidential election year, and the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote, the Women's March ATX is a significant indicator for the ways in which mobilization and engagement are critical to the protection of democracy and civil rights.

This year's speakers will feature women from a range of backgrounds and include social justice activist Sera Bonds; Jehmu Green, Fox News Political Analyst; Rep. Celia Israel; Briona Jenkins, activist for the LGBTQIA community; Dyana Limon-Mercado is the Interim Executive Director for Planned Parenthood Texas Votes; Courtney Santana, CEO of The Survive2Thrive Foundation; Pooja Sethi, Austin Community Leader, Attorney, City Council Commissioner, and a small business owner with all women employees; Meme Styles, President and Founder of the award winning nonprofit MEASURE; Meredith Walker, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls.
