Youth Soccer Competition Comes To Round Rock

2019 U.S. Youth Soccer Cup featuring matches among some of the region's top youth soccer teams is free to attend from June 11-16.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock will host the 2019 U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS) Southern Presidents Cup this week featuring matches among some of the region's top teams.

Presented by Chipotle, the competition is scheduled June 11-16 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex and Old Settler's Park. The annual soccer tournament features the southern United States’ top competitive youth soccer teams battling it out for a chance to play in the 2019 U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup taking place July 10-14 in Murfreesboro, TN.

“This year’s US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup Presented by Chipotle is expected to be an amazing event featuring top boys and girls teams from all over the Southeast in the 13-18 age groups,” Jennifer Davis, Executive Director, South Texas Youth Soccer Association, said in a prepared statement. “These talented teams have worked hard to get here and the winners will advance as the South Region Champs to the USYS National Presidents Cup in July in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.”

City officials note the upcoming meet furthers Round Rock's reputation as the self-described "Sports Capital of Texas," a municipal distinction buttressed by year-round athletic play.

"The Round Rock Multipurpose Complex features 60 acres of championship fields ideal for this type of high-level competitive soccer match,” Chad McKenzie, City of Round Rock Sports Management and Tourism Director, noted. “Hosting the US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup is a fantastic opportunity for Round Rock to show off our state-of-the-art sports facilities and welcome the south’s best soccer teams and their families to the Sports Capital of Texas.”

ABOUT ROUND ROCK MULTIPURPOSE COMPLEX

Located within Old Settlers Park, the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex is a $27 million state-of-the-art sports venue that enables Round Rock to host many new types of events, such as lacrosse, soccer, rugby, ultimate frisbee, flag football and more.
