Austin Hot Rod Parade To Limit Access To Congress Avenue

18th annual Lonestar Rod & Kustom Roundup this weekend means no left turns north or south between Nellie and Oltorf streets.

AUSTIN, TEXASThe Austin Police Department on Wednesday announced the traffic plan for the 18th annual Lonestar Rod & Kustom Roundup this weekend that will involve limited access to a portion of Congress Avenue.

The event starts at the Travis County Exposition Center, 7311 Decker Lane, before a procession of hot rods and custom cars embark on a procession up and down Congress Avenue. Given their route, there will be no left turns north or south along Congress Avenue for passenger traffic between Nellie and Oltorf streets.

This traffic pattern will be in effect from 4 p.m. Friday, April 12, to 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, and again on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019.

The Lonestar Round Up is described as a "a huge outdoor car show and live music festival featuring miles of vintage hot rods and custom cars driven here from all over the country by folks on an annual pilgrimage to Austin from all over the country and the world," according to the event's website.
