Austin Sees Lowest Gas Prices Of Year As 2015 Ends

Austin residents are getting plenty of relief at the pump.

Gas prices in Austin reached a low for 2015 just as the year was coming to an end, according to data from the American Automobile Association.

The average price of regular gas in the Austin-San Marcos area was $1.77 Wednesday morning, according to AAA, the lowest of the year and 30 cents less than its average price a year ago.

The price decrease follows a nationwide trend of dropping gas prices, which fell below $2 per gallon nationwide on December 21 for the first time since 2009.
