East Austin Elementary School Students Evacuated After Nearby Gas Line Break
The kids were safely moved to a different site, and no health issues were reported.
EAST AUSTIN, TX -- Some students at Maplewood Elementary School were evacuated Wednesday morning after a nearby gas line break in the 1400 block of East 38 1/2 Street in East Austin, according to a published report.
An Austin ISD spokeswoman told KEYE-TV some students were moved from a portable classroom near the site of the gas line break, but no students experienced health issues as a result.
Austin Fire Department officials were on hand, and urged people to avoid the area.
