Firefighters Battle Southeast Austin Duplex Fire
When firefighters arrived about 11:30 a.m., the attic was engulfed in flames

AUSTIN, TX - A Southeast Austin duplex was destroyed Sunday, displacing six residents on Burleson Road, according to firefighters. When firefighters arrived about 11:30 a.m., the attic was engulfed in flames, authorities said. Investigators are now trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
The American Red Cross will be assisting families displaced by the fire. Residents of the duplex escaped without injury and firefighters also rescued a dog. Neighbors alerted the residents to the fire. Gusty winds caused problems for firefighters as they battled the blaze, authorities said.
