It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas At Austin Airport
On Dec. 20, Ray Benson performs special set with Barton Hills Choir as backup, followed by Austin Jazz Workshop on Dec. 22,

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Everyone knows airport travel can be a real bear. But at the local airport, the sounds of music will rise above the din and cacophony to help soothe travelers' anxious souls.
The sights and sounds of the holiday season have begun to fill the terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, with two additional performances on the airport's main stage:
- Dec. 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m. - Ray Benson will perform a special set with The Barton Hills Choir backing him up. The Choir will then go on to perform a mix of golden oldies, classic rock, and today’s favorites.
- Dec. 22 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. - The Austin Jazz Workshop will perform jazz infused instrumental versions of classic Christmas Carols.
On December 20, Ray Benson & The Barton Hills Choir will perform from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at the Asleep at the Wheel stage located near Gate 10. The Barton Hills Choir is led by The Barton Hills Choir is led by Barton Hills Elementary School music teacher and choir director Gavin Tabone. The choir consists of 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students from the school who are accompanied by professional musicians. The choir has performed with the legendary Ray Benson in the past and passengers are sure to enjoy the festive holiday music that this collaboration will bring to the stage.

The Austin Jazz Workshop will perform on December 22, with jazzy instrumental versions of holiday hits from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. These professional jazz musicians visit over 120 central Austin schools each year, and have been keeping Austin cool since 1994. For more information, visit here.

These performances are in addition to the 16 live music performances presented weekly at the airport’s four venues, airport officials said. All performances are held past passenger screening checkpoints and are available to ticketed passengers only.
