Ready to walk or run in a melon-choly-free 10K, 5K or 1K for people of all ages and abilities? Join Lonestar Running Company (LRC) on Saturday, August 16, for the first-ever Watermelon Dash Austin, the sweetest in the refreshing three-event Summer Series that includes the Lemonade Dash in May and the Popsicle Dash in July – also held in Austin. This celebration of fitness and community building will take place at Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Boulevard, Round Rock. Event proceeds will benefit the Summer Series charity partner, the Nolan Ryan Foundation.

The 5K and 10K will both begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 9:15 a.m. and the Kids & Family 1K next at 9:30 a.m. All fitness levels are welcome – from runners to walkers and stroller-pushing parents. Be sure to dress in your most colorful watermelon-inspired gear and get ready to enjoy post-race slices of this sweet summer fruit, along with smiles and event swag.

But this event isn’t just about sweet summer fun – it’s about giving back, too. Proceeds from the Watermelon Dash support the Nolan Ryan Foundation, which has been pitching in for local communities since 1990 by investing in youth programs, education and development across Texas.
