Local Artist Sophie Roach To Unveil East Austin Mural

National Space Exploration Day observance on July 20 will be illustrated on the wall of the Native Hostel located at 807 E 4th St.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Ahead of the upcoming National Space Exploration Day next month, Austin-based artist Sophie Roach will be unveiling a new space-inspired mural in East Austin.

The mural will be unveiled on the wall of the Native Hostel located at 807 E 4th St. on July 20, officials said.

Roach's playful, pattern-driven aesthetic is familiar to many Austin art lovers, lured to her work for its palpable spontaneity, rhythm and familiar shapes and forms. Yet the planned mural will feature a lush unfamiliar landscape, a cosmic event in the night sky, and a bright and energetic color palette, officials said.
