Winning Lotto Texas Numbers For Saturday, Aug. 19 (Updated)

UPDATED: The winning Lotto Texas numbers for Saturday, Aug. 19 are: 17-20-27-38-43-53. The jackpot has grown to $7.25 million because nobody drew the winning numbers at Wednesday's drawing. The cash payout will be $5.11 million.

AUSTIN, TX — Wednesday's Lotto Texas drawing — like the one before it last Saturday — yielded no winner, so the jackpot has now grown to $7 million.

It's something of a moot point, but the winning Lotto numbers (that no one matched) for Aug. 16 were: 11-14-15-18-19-26. Actually, check that: It may be a moot point for the big prize, but the lottery pays out smaller prizes that ascend in value depending on how many of the other numbers are matched. Even matching two numbers gets you $2, which isn't much but it's something.

The next Lotto Texas drawing is Saturday, Aug. 19. Assuming someone matches all the numbers, wins and decides to take the cash payout option rather than the annuities, that person will be $4.89 million. Unless several people choose the same numbers or people at an office or something decide to pool their resources to buy lottery tickets, which means they'll have to split the prize. Or if family members make a pact to award each relative a piece of the prize, thus setting them up for life as a result, thus diluting the prize for himself or herself in the role of benevolent beneficiary
