Lufthansa To Launch Austin-To-Frankfurt Nonstop Service
Austin becomes 3rd Texas gateway city to have nonstop Lufthansa service to Rhein-Main-Flughafen in Frankfurt, Germany's busiest airport.
AUSTIN, TX — Lufthansa will celebrate the start of international nonstop service between the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Frankfurt Airport Rhein-Main-Flughafen, on Friday, May 3, officials said.
The world's largest airline network, Lufthansa will celebrate its new service with a 3 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, cake and live music, according to ABIA officials. Airline and airport executives will be on hand to offer remarks on the development.
With the new service, Austin becomes the third Texas gateway city to have nonstop Lufthansa service to Rhein-Main-Flughafen in Frankfurt, Germany's busiest airport. Currently, the Austin-to-Frankfurt route is the only new North American nonstop addition announced by the German carrier this year, airport officials noted.

A Star Alliance network codeshare partner, Lufthansa’s first arriving flight LH468 from Frankfurt to Austin will land in Austin around 2:05 p.m. Flight LH469, will depart Austin at 4 p.m. for the nonstop flight to Frankfurt.
Tickets are available now at www.lufthansa.com. Lufthansa will operate the flight with a 225 passenger Airbus A330-300 in a three-class cabin configuration. The aircraft has 42 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 185 Economy Class seats. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Optimally timed, flight LH469 will depart Austin at 4 p.m. and arrive at 9:05 a.m. in Frankfurt the following day. For passengers flying to Austin, LH 468 is set to take off at 10 a.m. from the Frankfurt Airport, arriving in Austin at 2:05 p.m. All times are local.
