Police Find Anti-Cop Graffiti in East Austin 7-Eleven
The message urged people to run over cops or shoot them in their patrol cars.

An Austin police officer found a threatening message written on a bathroom door at the 7-Eleven on Cameron Road and U.S. 290 in East Austin last week, Fox 7 reports.
The message read, “Run over cops at traffic stops or shoot them in the cop car!”
Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas President Todd Harrison told the TV station that police need to do more to stop these kinds of threats against law enforcement, including threats made on social media.

“It’s gotta stop. It’s irresponsible,” he said.
In a statement on the CLEAT website, Harrison said that “there is an open war against the police on the streets of America. President Obama and all the politicians in Texas and the U.S. have something in common, they’ve done absolutely nothing.”

He also criticized Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick for telling Texans to pick up the tab for police officers’ lunches. In a letter on his website, Patrick urged Texans, and all Americans, to show more respect for cops.
He also said, “If you are financially able, when you see them in a restaurant on duty pick up their lunch check, send over a dessert, or simply stop by their table briefly and say thank you for their service.”
Harrison said “it’s going to take more than a piece of pie and a thank you from the politicians to fix what’s wrong in this country.”
