The community spread level for Tarrant County has dropped from being High down to Substantial at 0.57 which means the virus spread is decreasing. River Oaks is reporting 1 new case today for a total of 2,220 cases since tracking began of which overall 2,141 have been reported to recover and with the death toll reaching a total of 27 that have died city-wide since tracking began, there is a total of 52 active cases still remaining in the City.Tarrant County is reporting today 509 new cases today for a total of 557,808 cases of which 453,078 are confirmed and 104,730 are probable cases. 532,602 are estimated to have recovered but with 12 more deaths reported since the last report, the number of deaths has risen to a total of 5,619 overall in Tarrant County. Tarrant County hospital bed occupancy by COVID-19 patients is down to 6%. Omicron is at least 4 times easier to spread than the Delta Variant because it gets past our immune defenses. Time will tell how severe infections are, especially in those not previously vaccinated or infected. 62% of all Tarrant County residents 5 years and older have now been fully vaccinated, 56% of all ages of Tarrant County Residents have been fully vaccinated. 17% of all Tarrant County that is 5-years and older has taken the booster. COVID-19 causes respiratory illness with cough, fever and shortness of breath and may lead to bronchitis and severe pneumonia.
