Collapsed Crane Shuts Down Galleria Intersection
Worker trapped in crane basket was taken to hospital for treatment.

HOUSTON, TX — The good thing: The crane fell around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, a time at which most people were home in bed. The bad thing: One person was injured, and the intersection at Westheimer and Post Oak Boulevard was shut down while workers cleared the mess.
Police say firefighters had to assist a man who was on a crane doing work on the metal Post Oak Boulevard street; the large round sign was was being taken down for maintenance
Officials say another crane toppled and hit the first crane, trapping the worker in the unit's basket. The Houston Fire Department, as reported by KHOU, was able to extricate the man from the basket. He was taken to an area hospital and was being treated for a back injury, according to officials.
