HOUSTON, TX — EQX River Oaks has filed an application to construct a hotel in the River Oaks neighborhood on Westcreek Lane, near the corner of Loop 610 and Westheimer. The brand behind the plan is Equinox, the well-known fitness company.
"In recent years, this area has been evolving into an area for high-density mixed-use development," the application said. "The area character has transitioned."
As conveyed in the company's application to Houston and reported by various media outlets, the hotel will have 214 rooms and about 70 apartments. The plot of land on which the company hopes to develop the hotel is currently a parking lot.
