Houston Deacon Accused Of Molesting Children

Bary Todd Durrell, 55, was arrested amid allegations he sexually assaulted two boys under the age of 10.

HOUSTON, TX — Police arrested a deacon at the West Houston Seventh Day Adventist Church after he was accused of at least two incidents of sexual assault against two boys aged 7 and 2.

In one instance, according to police officials, Barry Todd Durrell, who is 55, was found in a closet with the 2-year-old by the youth's mother. In addition, the 7-year-old told his family in February that Durrell had molested him several times.

The 7-year-old told officials that Durrell took him to a bathroom at the church, which is located at 2390 West Sam Houston Parkway North, and assaulted him on a number of occasions. He also said that Durrell assaulted him at two other locations.

Investigators said that Durrell could have assaulted other minors and said that anyone with information about the situation should contact HPD Special Victims Division at 713-830-3254.
