Houston ISD To Hold Teacher Job Fair

Houston ISD looks to fill teacher voids by hosting a job fair next week.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston ISD will host a teacher job fair on Wednesday, July 26, to fill a districtwide void. To qualify for the invitation-only event, candidates must be pre-screened through an online application.

Houston ISD is the largest school district in Texas and the seventh-largest in the United States. The starting teacher salary is $52,530 — among the best in the region. There's also a stipend up to $4,000 for eligible certified bilingual teachers.

School principals from across the district will be at the event to interview candidates and perhaps offer jobs on the spot. Teachers certified to teach bilingual, secondary math and science, and special education are strongly encouraged to apply and attend.
