Houston Man Accused Of Raping Woman In Front Of Children Is Back In Court

Bryce Scott, 42, was arrested on Thursday after breaking into apartment and allegedly assaulting mother of two.

HOUSTON, TX — An accused rapist is back in court after being charged with aggravated assault on Friday.

Bryce Scott, 42, was denied bail because he has four previous felony convictions.

Police officials said that an armed Scott forcibly entered a Memorial-area apartment on Thursday and made the victim undress in the presence of her two children. He then sexually assaulted her.

"She was able to hand her phone off to her kids and told them in Arabic to call the police," Sgt. Reginald Porter said.

Porter added that when responding officers arrived at the apartment complex, on Bateswood near Memorial Drive, Scott, naked, ran from the house toward a nearby school. He made it about 40 yards and hid under a truck, where officers apprehended him.

Scott, according to click2houston, lives in the apartment complex, and his children play with the victim's children.

A neighbor told click2houston that she was shocked about the incident.

"They always always tell us 'know your neighbors,' but do you really know your neighbors?" Andria Perez said.

Police officials said that the woman, who is from Iran, is a single mother who resides in Houston. She is undergoing medical and psychological evaluation. Her children were unharmed in the incident, which took place in the early hours of the morning.
