Montrose Veterinarian Accused Of Hiring Hitman Commits Suicide

Valerie Busick McDaniel, who was out of jail on bond, jumped off of a balcony at her River Oaks high-rise on Monday.

HOUSTON, TX — Valerie Busick McDaniel, who along with her lover was accused of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband and her lover's ex-partner, committed suicide on Monday morning.

McDaniel, 48, who was a prominent veterinarian with a clinic in Montrose, jumped off of a balcony of her seventh-story apartment, located in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston.

McDaniel's boyfriend, Leon Jacob, remains in jail.

The Houston Chronicle reported that police officials were on the scene at McDaniel's apartment building, which is on Willowick Road.
