Cyclist Struck, Killed Crossing Old Spanish Trail In Houston

The cyclist was struck and killed while trying to cross in an area that did not have a crosswalk.

HOUSTON, TX — A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car while crossing Old Spanish Trail in South Houston on Tuesday, police said.

The crash happened at 4900 Old Spanish Trail about 3:35 p.m. Police said the bicyclist, only identified as a man in his 60s, was crossing in an area that did not have a crosswalk.

He was struck by a silver Chevrolet Impala going west. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the Impala remained at the scene and didn't show signs of intoxication. She was questioned and releaed without charges.
