2 Inmates Escape From Liberty County Jail

Officials believe the men escaped through a fence on the east side of the jail perimeter that had been cut open.

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX — Two inmates escaped from the Liberty County jail early Tuesday morning and while it's unkown if the two men are armed, they are considered dangerous, officials said.

In a press release, the Liberty County Sheriff's Office said that officials discovered during a routine cell check that the two men had escaped. The inmates escaped sometime between 4 - 6:15 a.m.

They were identified as Clay Sterling Harvey, 44, of Nederland, Texas and Chance Marshall Hunt, 28, of Beaumont, Texas. Both men in the jail facing multiple charges, officials said.

Sheriff's officials and the Texas Rangers are have tracking dogs on scene and a search is underway.
