2-Year-Old Left At Houston Fire Station After Mother's Arrest

A 2-year-old boy is safe after he was left at Houston Fire Station by a stranger, hours after his mother was arrested.

HOUSTON — A 2-year-old child whose mother was arrested Sunday was dropped off by an unknown man at a Houston Fire Station on Monday, officials said.

According to police, the child’s mother was arrested in Sugar Land on an outstanding warrant after an incident at an area motel, where she was accused of using a fraudulent credit card.

Officials said the woman was being questioned by police about the credit card when they learned of the warrant, and took her into custody. The woman, who was at the motel with her son and another man, left her son in his care and allegedly told police that a family member would come and pick the child up.

However, the man left the child with another man who brought the child to the fire station.
Officials said the boy didn’t have any extra clothes or diapers when he was dropped off at the fire station.

The child was placed in the custody of child protective services until a relative can be located.
