Body Of Kemah Boardwalk Employee Trying To Help Kayaker Recovered

Officials confirmed that Robert "Todd" Riddle's body was pulled from the waters on Thursday.

KEMAH, TX — Authorities have recovered the body of a Kemah Boardwalk water who went missing after jumping into the waters to help a distressed kayaker Wednesday morning.

Kemah city officials said that the body of Robert “Todd” Riddle, 57, was recovered on Thursday.

Kemah Police Chief Walter Gant asked for prayer and respect for Riddle's family. He also thanked the agencies that assisted with the search.

"We truly appreciate the cooperation from the media during this difficult time," Gant said.

The kayaker that Riddle was trying to help was assisted to the shore by another good samaritan.
