Car Collisions Leave Bicyclist, Pedestrian Dead in Houston
Biker was victim of a hit-and-run and died at scene of accident; neither victim has been identified.

HOUSTON, TX — The incidents took place about a mile and a half and a few hours apart late on Wednesday evening, and resulted in the deaths of two men. One was walking in the 10200 block of Mesa Drive when was struck by a car around 10:30 p.m; in the second collision, a man was biking westbound on Tidwell Road when he was knocked off of his bicycle by a hit-and-run motorist.
Larry Crowson, a lieutenant with the Houston Police Department, referring to the first incident, said the area in which the man was walking lively played a role in his death.
"This is a kind of desolate area with low light," Crowson said, as reported by the Houston Chronicle. "That may have played a factor in the accident." The driver whose car hit the pedestrian remained at the scene, and police officials said he did not appear to be intoxicated.
